Berlin Weekly – Your Mission in the Capital!
Every Tuesday evening from 19:30 to 22:00 local time (17:30z–20:00z), the skies over Berlin come to life. During this time, Berlin Brandenburg Airport (EDDB) is fully staffed by controllers, transforming into the virtual hub of Germany’s capital. Whether it’s domestic hops, international long-haul departures, or busy arrival streams, Berlin offers a realistic, high-traffic experience with that unmistakable capital city vibe.
Few places blend contrast like Berlin: from the wide-open landscapes of Brandenburg to the energy of the city center with iconic landmarks like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and the Reichstag — every flight here becomes something special. While IFR pilots navigate the airport’s busy traffic and complex procedures, VFR flyers are treated to a stunning aerial tour: a low pass over the Victory Column, a sweeping turn over Müggelsee, or a golden-hour cruise along the shimmering River Spree.
Berlin Weekly is your weekly invitation to experience the capital from a whole new angle. With full ATC coverage, dynamic procedures, challenging arrivals and departures, and a city that blends history, culture, and modern life — every Tuesday night brings the true Berlin atmosphere to your cockpit. A flight participates when a detected departure or arrival is recorded at one of the event airports inside the inclusive event window shown above. Detected movements use stable takeoff and landing transitions and are assigned only to a nearby airport. Headline departure and arrival figures count movements, while flights and pilots are counted uniquely. A flight that departs near the end of the window and lands afterwards counts as a departure only, because its arrival happened outside the window.
